• I’m by no means a foodie, but I love exploring communities to find unique local spots. I enjoy experimenting in the kitchen—trying a new smoothie combination, testing an easy weeknight dish, or baking something sweet to share with friends. Here you’ll find the local businesses that are the heart of a neighborhood or the best part of a trip, along with approachable recipes I’ve fallen in love with and that you can try at home.

  • Mental Health is a topic that is near and dear to my heart. At 17-years-old I was diagnosed with anxiety and depression. Since then I have seen firsthand the stigma that can come with this diagnosis, including the stigma that can come from yourself. Since then I have been working on normalizing mental health and the importance of Self Love and Care. Here I will share some of my favourite self love practices, and in the future, hopefully interviews of other Mental Health Advocates.

  • This category is where I share honest stories and practical lessons from life in the newsroom, the challenges and wins of running my own business, and the realities of working on the road. First‑hand accounts sharing mistakes that taught me the most, along with the routines and tools that keep projects moving. Each post aims to offer useful takeaways you can apply whether you’re starting a media career, launching a business, or learning to work remotely while on the move.

  • Welcome to the Reviews category — the place for thoughtful, concise thoughts of books, movies, TV shows (warning you can expect spoilers) and more!

Also housed in this category are my ever-evolving Top 10 lists: personal favourites that change as I discover new work. Those lists reflect ongoing tastes and are updated regularly, so check back to see what rises, falls, or stays put.

Define your story, don’t let your story define you!

Welcome to my little corner of the internet…

Welcome to my corner of the internet away from the microphone — a straightforward, honest space where I share what I’ve learned from a career in journalism and content creation, the ups and downs of my mental health journey, along with stories from my travels and downtime. Here you’ll find practical lessons and behind-the-scenes insights from lessons I have learned working in a newsroom, alongside quieter reflections on coping, resilience and the everyday work.

Expect readable, useful pieces: tips and tactics I’ve tested in the field; book notes and short reviews of titles I’ve just finished; quick takes on movies and TV shows I’m binge-watching; and travel stories that focus on what I noticed, learned, or changed about myself along the way. Sometimes posts will be tactical — how I plan an editorial calendar or approach an interview. Sometimes they’ll be vulnerable — a conversation about hard lessons, burnout, or the small routines that help me keep going. And sometimes they’ll be just for fun: a list of favourite scenes, a travel itinerary, or a lazy weekend watchlist.

If you’re looking for a not quite perfect corner of the world, a friend, maybe a quick and easy recipe to try — or all three — you’re in the right place. Pour yourself a good cup of coffee, settle in, and read what comes ahead. Join me as I collect the lessons, the recommendations and the honest moments that are to come.
